Halloween Decorating Never Dies

Decorating for Halloween will never die out in this house. I’m not quite sure whether we have more Halloween decorations or Christmas decorations. It’s crazy. Every year I say I’m going to pair down and get rid of at least half of what we store. Now here we are again and I’m like a kid in a candy store. Out come all the decorations and I spend the evening arranging and primping them… Read more »

The Drapery “Puddle”

I don’t think I’ll ever get used to the term “puddling” in drapery lingo. It’s a funny term but it is a feature to be decided upon when getting custom drapery for your windows. Puddling is the result of the excess fabric length when lies on the floor. I ran across this question recently and I thought about what I would advise if I were consulting today.

When I last… Read more »

Simple drapery panels Pinch Pleat

My money saving idea was to sew pinch pleats onto store bought panels. I really like… Read more »

Create Stylish Do-It-Yourself Roman Valances

Out of all the window treatment valances, one of my favorite styles is the Roman. It has the look of a professionally sewn, folded Roman shade, but it is stationary. The Roman style is my go-to choice because it is simple, yet elegant. When considering do-it-yourself window treatment ideas, Deco Wrap cornices give you no-sew ease with a high end look. You have many options as to how you can create it, and it is easy… Read more »

It’s the holidays, a time for gathering with family and gift giving too. I can’t help but think about my favorite part of the season, gift wrapping! Fall Refresh

I love the fall. The air has a crisp feel and the smell of the Autumnal outdoors gives me a happy feeling. If your family is like ours, for much of the summer we have the windows closed and the air conditioning on because it’s just too hot and humid. Now that fall is here, I love opening the windows to let the cool air circulate and refresh the house naturally. I was… Read more »
