The Pantone Color Institute said, “It recognized similar feelings of instability gripping the world today, from the United States to the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Syria and across the globe. It settled on a shade that offers the reassurance, confidence and connection that people may be searching for in an uncertain global milieu.”
The practice of naming the Color of the Year began many years ago. In 1963, the Pantone company created a proprietary system, the Pantone Matching System. It is used in a variety of industries such as printing, graphic design and fashion design to manage colors. Since then, those in fashion and industries relying on color projections, look forward to this yearly announcement.
In home decor, the classic blue hue is elegant in its simplicity. Classic Blue is a dependable color that can take you in different directions, from coastal to modern, expressing tradition and sophistication as well as unexpected boldness.
