A Cozier Mud Room

Our mud room window was left plain and looked neglected. It is tucked between two large cabinets which is where we keep our jackets and way too many other things! In looking at it the other day, I realized the space could use a little something to make it cozier. A Deco Wrap cornice valance would do the trick.

To be frugal, I took a cornice style from our collection of QVC samples. After all, it was just packed away in our hall closet. I found one that I thought would work. The blue and white fabric was a perfect compliment to the white cabinetry and gray ceramic flooring. What wasn’t appealing to me was the nautical style anchor print. But since that was just accent material (they were actually dinner napkins that I cut down and tucked in) I was able to just pull them right off.

I like that much better.

And there it is. A smart little style set into the niche. I added the pillows for some more color and I’m very happy with the result. It sure makes the room feel a little cozier.
